The Dr. Uzor Cares Foundation has provided critical medical assistance to Master Chukwuemeka Ashuke, a young victim of a brutal vitriol (acid) attack, offering much-needed relief to his family amid the traumatic ordeal.
The intervention took place on Wednesday, December 4, 2025, following a distress call by the victim’s father, Mr. Ikechukwu Jonathan Ashuke, who had written to the Foundation seeking urgent financial support for his son’s treatment. Master Ashuke was attacked by an unknown assailant at his residence in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
After a careful assessment of the case, the Foundation approved a sum of ₦250,000 to help offset the rising medical expenses associated with the victim’s treatment.
The cheque was formally presented to the parents at the Dr. Uzor Cares Foundation office. At the presentation, the family confirmed that their son is currently receiving specialised medical care at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu, and expressed deep relief over the intervention.
Presenting the cheque on behalf of the Foundation, a Member of the Board of Trustees, Hon. Engr. Kene Eze, commended the Chairman of the Foundation, Rt. Hon. Dr. Festus Uzor, and the entire Board for their swift response, describing the approval as timely and life-saving.
Overcome with emotion, Mr. and Mrs. Ashuke poured out their gratitude to the Foundation for coming to their aid at a moment of great distress.
“We don’t know how to thank you enough. This support has brought us hope and comfort. May God bless the Foundation for this act of kindness,” they said.
Also present at the brief ceremony was another member of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, Mr. Chijioke Jideofor, alongside other representatives of the Ashuke family.
The intervention by the Dr. Uzor Cares Foundation has brought renewed hope to the Ashuke family, easing their financial burden and giving their son a fighting chance to heal, while reaffirming the Foundation’s commitment to lifting vulnerable individuals in times of urgent need.
The statement was signed by Hon. Mrs. Uche Eze, Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Uzor Cares Foundation.
