DR. UZOR CARES FOUNDATION Strengthens Agribusiness Growth with SME Grant to Young Farmer

On Thursday, 21st August 2025, Dr. Uzor Cares Foundation extended vital entrepreneurial support to Mr. Ifeanyichukwu Obieze from Okpogho in Ezeagu Local Government Area, by providing financial assistance for the expansion of his poultry and integrated farming project located at Ogbeke Nike in Enugu East Local Government Area.

Mr. Obieze had approached the Foundation a few weeks ago, appealing for help to scale up his agribusiness venture. He had already made significant strides by establishing his farm but faced major financial barriers that prevented him from reaching the level of growth required to sustain his vision and meet community demand.

After a thorough review of his application and recognizing the critical role agriculture plays in local development, the Foundation graciously approved the sum of ₦500,000 (five hundred thousand naira) under its SME Grant programme to support the expansion of his business.

Today, the Foundation presented the cheque for the approved amount to Mr. Obieze in a brief ceremony that highlighted the importance of agriculture as both a livelihood and a cornerstone of community development.

Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Mrs. Uche Eze, Secretary of the Board of Trustees, commended Mr. Obieze’s resilience and entrepreneurial drive.

“This is more than a grant, it is an investment in a young man’s vision to feed families, create jobs, and inspire others in the community. Agriculture is the future, and we are proud to stand with you as you grow this venture,” she remarked.

Overjoyed, Mr. Obieze expressed deep appreciation to the Foundation for its timely intervention. “This support has given me the breakthrough I needed. I can now expand my poultry and diversify into other aspects of farming. My dream is becoming a reality, and I will forever remain grateful to this Foundation for believing in me,” he said with emotion.
