The Dr. Uzor Cares Foundation has approved financial assistance of ₦250,000 to support the medical treatment of Mrs. Evelyn Nweke, a stroke patient from Umana Ndiagu, Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State, as part of its continued commitment to assisting vulnerable individuals facing critical health challenges.
The intervention was disclosed in a statement signed by the Secretary of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, Hon. Mrs. Uche M. Eze, who said the support underscores the Foundation’s resolve to improve access to healthcare and provide timely assistance to families burdened by medical emergencies.
According to the statement, the request for assistance was submitted by the patient’s daughter, who appealed to the Foundation for financial support to enable her mother undergo urgent medical investigations, including a CT scan, full body scan and other diagnostic tests at the Niger Foundation Hospital, Enugu.
After reviewing the application, the Foundation approved ₦250,000 to help offset the cost of Mrs. Nweke’s treatment.
The cheque was presented on June 2, 2026, by Hon. Barr. Peter Aniagboso on behalf of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
Speaking during the presentation, Aniagboso commended the Chairman of the Foundation, Rt. Hon. Dr. Festus Uzor, and members of the Board for their swift approval of the request, describing the intervention as another demonstration of the Foundation’s compassion for people facing health-related challenges.
He also prayed for the speedy recovery and complete healing of Mrs. Nweke, who currently serves as the APC Women Leader in Ezeagu Local Government Area.
Receiving the cheque on behalf of her mother, Mrs. Oluchi Eneh expressed profound appreciation to the Foundation for its timely intervention.
“Words cannot fully express our appreciation. This support has given us hope at a critical time and will go a long way in helping us secure the medical care our mother needs. May God continue to bless Dr. Festus Uzor and the entire Foundation,” she said.
Also present during the cheque presentation was Mr. Chijioke Jideofor, a member of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
The Foundation said the intervention reflects its unwavering commitment to promoting access to quality healthcare and providing practical support to vulnerable individuals and families, noting that the assistance has brought both financial relief and renewed hope to the Nweke family as Mrs. Nweke continues her journey to recovery.
