In a heartwarming act of compassion, the Dr. Uzor Cares Foundation has fully funded a life-saving surgical procedure for Master Chidubem Oguejioffor, a three-year-old boy from Aguobu Iwollo in Ezeagu Local Government Area, Enugu State. The child was diagnosed with a congenital (communicating) inguino-scrotal hernia—a condition that could have led to severe medical complications if left untreated.

The successful surgery was conducted at about 9:00 AM on 7th June 2025 by Dr. Enemuo Vincent Chidi, a Consultant General Surgeon at St. Daniel Consolata Specialist Hospital, Independence Layout, Enugu.

Welcoming the Foundation’s team to the hospital, Dr. Ajawara Daniel, Managing Director of the hospital, described the urgency and severity of the child’s condition:
“The boy was diagnosed with a congenital (communicating) inguino-scrotal hernia. Without this procedure, he could have faced complications including intestinal obstruction (a serious medical emergency) with even more serious sequelae. We thank God for the success of the surgery and appreciate the Foundation’s intervention.”

The child’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Festus Oguejioffor, reached out to the Foundation through a family friend, explaining their son’s critical health condition and seeking financial assistance for the surgery, which was far beyond their means.

Upon reviewing the case, the Foundation approved the full payment of ₦350,000 to cover the surgery and related expenses. The cheque was formally presented to the hospital by Hon. Mrs. Uche Eze, Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Dr. Uzor Cares Foundation.

In her remarks, Mrs. Eze expressed gratitude to the hospital’s management and medical personnel:
“We thank the Chief Medical Director and the entire medical team for the smooth and successful procedure.”

Clearly overwhelmed with emotion, the grateful parents shared their joy and gratitude:
“We don’t know how to thank you enough. This means the world to us. May God bless the Foundation for this act of kindness,” said Mr. and Mrs. Oguejioffor.

Also present at the event were Mr. Chijioke Jideofor, a Member of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, along with other representatives from the hospital.

The intervention by Dr. Uzor Cares Foundation has not only brought relief to the Oguejioffor family but has also given their young son a renewed chance at a healthy life. The Foundation has pledged to continue monitoring the child’s recovery and to support the family as needed.

Signed:
