In a heartwarming demonstration of love and Care, the Dr. Uzor Cares Foundation has provided expert orthopaedic care to Miss Somma Michelle Anieke, a native of Umumba Ndiagu in Ezeagu LGA, who was being mismanaged at a local bone setters home in Nsukka following a major fracture in her right hand.

On the 4th of November 2024, luck located the family as the father of the 2 year old Girl, Mr Anieke Chukwudi, desperately reached out to the management of Dr.Uzor Cares Foundation, through the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Rt. Hon. Dr. Festus Uzor .The rest is history as the Foundation swung into action on the 7th of November 2024 to ensure expert orthopeadic management of the girl’s fractured right hand for the restoration of its full functionality.

The little girl is being managed at St.Gabriel’s Hospital, Trans-Ekulu by a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Dr. Anijunsi Patrick

A delegation from the Foundation led by Barr. Peter Aniagboso paid a follow-up visit to the Hospital on 7th November and expressed deep concern for Miss Somma as well as appreciation to the managing Consultant. Initial cheque of #212,000 was presented to the hospital, as requested, while the Foundation committed to bearing the cost of Somma’s full course of treatment.

In his speech, Aniagboso highlighted the Foundation’s mission, saying, “Dr. Uzor Cares Foundation is dedicated to supporting the needy and most vulnerable members of our community”

Speaking during the visit, Dr. Anijunsi described the fracture as one that could lead to permanent loss of function in the affected hand and possible amputation if not well managed and commended the Foundation for her timely intervention in the girl’s case. He went further to thank Dr.Uzor cares Foundation for her “continuing uncommon show of selflessness and love to humanity. we pray God Almighty to continuously provide for the Foundation and sustain all the Board of Trustees members”. Other members of the delegation were Hon. Mrs Uche M. Eze, Secretary of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, and Chijioke Jude Jideofor,Member Foundation’s Board of Trustees.

The parents of Somma, Mr and Mrs Chukwudi Anieke, had earlier prayed for the Foundation while expressing their profound gratitude after their daughter underwent the successful procedure at the hospital.
